 August

Summer ended with a splash and not because we were all out enjoying hot, sunny weather at the beach.

When it rains, it pours, and in a way, summer did end with a bang too.. But also a few claps and flashing skies.

Nevertheless, August was a great month. A month that has seen considerable growth for my Instagram, clocking in at a little over 300 in the last week (and I didn't even cheat with third party apps and sites!).

It's also been a month of renewed effort and refining across the board for my photography. I've been putting out, what I believe to be my most consistent, high quality work; to date. If you've been following my work over on Instagram (www.instagram.com/whiteglare) you may  will have noticed.

This post contains several of my favourites taken this month (not all) along with images taken for memories sake during family day's/trip's out. Enjoy them!

'Trashed ashore' - Photo project

After a rather long hiatus, I am back with another blog post!

Within today's post, I'd like to share with you the photo project I recently shot and published on my Flickr page. For the project, I set off, camera in hand, to the banks of the River Thames here at Cliffe.

I wanted to capture and display the amount of rubbish that has and continues to accumulate on the banks of the Thames here. The more commonly visited section of what is known, to myself at least, as the 'Sea wall' is tidy in comparison to what lies further around the shore. Shattered glass, used needles, dead mice, rats, birds and a whole other host of nasty attractions are commonplace, in an area which is supposedly a nature reserve.

Caught littering in an area wardens patrol? A hefty fine could be headed your way. All the while, literal tons of rubbish sits festering, out of site and out of mind.

Why doesn't anyone do anything about the rubbish? I'm not sure, but I believe something should be done.

Check out the photos, here. And remember, these weren't taken in the worst parts, I ran out of time before I could reach those areas.

Thank you for reading!

Muddy marsh -

The large majority of today was spent walking Sally, with Vikki. We'd planned to on Sunday, but never got around to it, for the best, the weather today was even better.

I was able to practice portraiture a little, which was very nice as I haven't had many opportunities as of posting.

Following are a few of my favourite captures from the day.

Braving the cold and snow foam

Sally's lead in one hand, camera in the other. I wasn't expecting to find any new scenarios to shoot in down the marsh, as I've visited so often and taken so many pictures, anything new is becoming a rarity.

But I did. I hadn't counted on the wind being so... well, windy! The lakes churned in the wind like a boiling broth and left its edges painted in foam, Sally found all of it rather enjoyable.

Oh, I also found a glowing stone.
